Sarah Smallwood Parsons (they/she) or Cry Baby Craft is a queer artist creating jewelry in Queens. Sarah has a BFA from the University of Connecticut and is a performer at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater in NYC.

“This piece by Sarah Smallwood Parsons (Cry Baby Craft) features a vintage doll covered in their signature spiked armor on a string of vintage beads. Sarah’s work meditates on their struggles growing up in a dysfunctional home and their fantasies of invincibility and escaping to another planet. Her work is influenced by syfy space movies and the second hand materials she comes across.”

“Materials are not something I consider in relation to my queerness but to my economic status, which is why I use mostly vintage dolls and beads from thrift stores, and a variety of things from the dollar store."
